Connecticut Sublease Agreement – PDF Template
A sublease agreement in Connecticut is a type of arrangement when a person rents from someone else who has a lease on a property. This can be for any length of time as long as the sublease arrangement does not go beyond the length of the original lease made with the property owner or management company.
All payments are to be made to the tenant and the tenant is responsible for paying the landlord whether or not the sublessee pays the tenant. This is the main reason why it is recommended that any potential sublessee’s be put through a credit examination (using the application) to verify his or her income.
Once the form is authorized it is legal and binding for the period specified.
- If sublessor will need to find out when the housing unit was built to determine if lead based paint is in existence on the premises. If so, the disclosure form will need to be authorized and attached as an addendum.
